Just Before Finals

This upcoming week is finals for me. As I was driving to the grocery store, I was fortunate enough to have a bumper car challenge with the large truck behind me. Since he got the citation, he was of course lucky enough to have no damage done to his car. I will now be carless throughout my finals week. YES! I will need a new tail light, trunk lid, the trunk seam will need to be welded and definitely a new bumper. Luckily, this is my first accident since 2001.

This is the kind of truck that hit me. So I am pretty lucky that this is all the damage that I have.

Doesn't it look pretty!

Aston Family Reunion 2010

Seeing these pictures tonight made me feel so happy as I thought back on our reunion together. I agree with my sister that my idea of heaven is being with my family. Although we are far away from each other, our love as a family grows stronger with each experience we share with one another. Whether those experiences are wonderful or challenging our family bond will always bring us closer together.

I love you all! Thank you for the memories.

Happy Valentine's Day

This year we celebrated Valentine's Day with homemade valentines! Starting at the beginning of the week I made Tyler a valentine everyday. It was fun to try and be creative. It really pays off to be a second grade teacher when you need ideas to make cute valentines. Buttons, sequence, tissue paper, pom poms...perhaps Tyler will be happy when I no longer have access to these cutsie supplies.
Tyler surprised me with a "Top 10 Reasons Why I Want You to be My Valentine!". He hid each of these reasons (that I might add were attached to delightful treats) around our house and sent me on a scavenger hunt. It is so wonderful to have a darling husband. I love being loved by him!

The World's Largest Rolls

Before church this afternoon we set our rolls out to raise. Our house can get up to 78 degrees when the blinds are open, so we placed them right in front of the window to help them raise on time. This picture shows what we came home to! We were lucky to get through the front door with rolls that big! We joked that instead of rolls, we each had our own loaf of bread.

Despite our mishap, we enjoyed a lovely roast dinner with Heather and Papa.

We have our meals ready for next week

We thought you all might like to see our new fridge. We even have it filled with enough food to feed us for the next week. Thanks to all who have helped us get moved in these last few days.

We're Moving In

We thought you might like to see some pictures of our new home. We just closed on Tuesday night and got our keys on Wednesday afternoon. We are very happy with how it turned out.

This is our loft area.

This is our dining area.

This is the Living.

And the Kitchen.
We'll send some more pictures when we are all moved in.

We have a floor!

The red part of the building on the right side is our balcony. Our home is the two, dark gray stories above the red and the two stories of the light gray to the left of the red.
We couldn't just take a picture of the linoleum by itself, so here are our feet on the linoleum. This is in the bathroom in our master bedroom.

Isn't he cute with his glasses? Oh, oops...this is a shot of Tyler from our loft to the main floor.
We were really excited to see that our wood floor was down. In fact we made an emergency trip back out to our house just to see it even though we had just been there 2 days before. And when I say "emergency" I mean we almost missed seeing Harry Potter 6 at the dollar theater for the 7th time.

And here is the red balcony! We are hoping that they are not finished with the floor. Although, I do love yellow!
