I find myself laughing at Lily most of the day lately. She is doing the cutest and funniest things. I finally captured some of my favorite things she does so that I will never forget how silly she is.
She loves to suck on my chapstick. She figured out how to pull the lid off, which was a major choking hazard, so I threw the lid away. Then she started eating the chapstick, so I had to pull that out and throw that away too. Still, this is one of her favorite toys. She LOVES putting it in her mouth and then going about doing other things. I love it when she crawls around with it poking out of her mouth.
Yesterday she was all over the place! First I found her in the basket of her highchair...
Then I found her under it! Crazy girl!
This is her favorite spot in her nursery. If we are playing upstairs this is the first place she wants to go. She pulls out most, or all, of her books and then sits and talks to herself while she looks at them. I love it!
She is growing up so fast! She is trying so hard to walk and she is speaking all kinds of jibberish. What happened to my little baby?

Yummy Salmon
Lily tried salmon for the first time last night and she loved it! As you can see from how big her mouth is, she couldn't get enough! I am so happy that she is trying new things and enjoying healthy food. Daddy is happy that he has (and I quote) "a doggy under the table that he can throw his scraps to" when he doesn't want to eat his vegetables! He is right, she will eat almost anything!

Our Little Crawling Monster
I took a couple videos of Lily crawling today. I cannot believe how fast she is getting around now. Last week she was barely moving and now I can't leave her unsupervised! I do regret to say that she crawls toward my phone faster than she will toward me, but I am just happy to see her growing and exploring!
We are still at the "this is fun" stage of crawling. I am sure once she starts moving faster we're going to have a little monster on our hands!
As you will see in this next video, not only is she crawling, but she is starting to pull herself up on things. Scary! She can pull herself up into a full standing position (while holding on of course), she likes tipping her book basket and toy bin over, and she can pull herself into a kneeling position where she then likes to let go for a few seconds before falling backward or forward. Hopefully she will learn to gain her balance soon so I won't keep hearing her head and other body parts bang on the floor!

Lily's New Trick
Lily has a fun new trick! I put her down in our bedroom, walked out to the loft to start the laundry and she CRAWLED out to meet me! She's been trying hard for several weeks to crawl, but now she's really got the hang of it. Are we in trouble or what???

Our Disneyland Adventure
On our recent trip to California, we decided to take Lily to Disneyland. Lily is such a curious baby, always wanting to see everything around her, that we wanted to see how she would like all the Disneyland Magic!
Here we are on the tram on our way into the park. Mommy was a little more excited than Lily at this point. The anticipation just kills me!
We asked Daddy to try pulling the sword out of the stone...
Mommy was glad she loved It's a Small World, because that is her favorite ride too! Lily was so interested in all the colors, movement and lights. We love watching her experience new things!
All in all, we had a really fun day. We fed her baby food while we waited in line, Mommy went on Splash Mountain, Lily fell asleep on Pirates of the Caribbean, Daddy went on Space Mountain while Mommy fed Lily, we went on loads of fun rides without waiting in lines and Lily loved being carried around all day in the baby carrier. Gratefully my parents live so close that we went home and got her down for bed before she got worn out. It was perfect!
We weren't exactly sure to expect, but she loved it! We can't wait to go back again when she can talk and tell us what she is thinking!

But, we've never seen anyone do it before, until now! All hail King Daddy!
Lily looked so cute on the merry-go-round.
And, so did Ty!
Her favorite attractions were the Tiki Room and It's a Small World. We wished we could have video taped her in the Tiki Room jumping around and singing with the birds. It was so cool! Lily's Breakfast Adventures
Trying to get Lily to eat solid food has been a tricky business. She will not have anything to do with baby food, but often enjoys whatever mommy and daddy are eating.
Her favorite foods so far are refried beans, lemons, Fage yogurt, and clementines...two of which are witnessed on her face in this picture. Just last week, she had her first tastes of fresh kiwi and pear.
As you can see, Lily loves kiwi as much as Mommy and Daddy!

Baby Food
We took these videos last week when Lily tried food for the first time. We've given her a couple tastes here and there, but this was the first time in the Bumbo with a bib on. We think she did pretty good for the first time! Sweet potatoes here we come!!!
Daddy thought it was so funny that he took 2 videos!
The only problem now is that she won't have anything to do with food. As soon as she sees the spoon coming she starts flinching and flailing her arms in front of her face. I even tried putting rice cereal on my finger and putting it in her mouth. She let me do that several times and then spit it all over the place. Maybe we'll get a video of that next time. I suppose we'll give her a couple weeks and try again!
